Trend Spotting: Tassels Abound

Somethings been trending this summer, and it's tassels. Tassels are versatile in the sense that they apply to a multitude of styles: boho (combined with the classic Aztec print), elegant (think pale pinks and sky blues), and preppy (but loafers often have tassels, so tassels aren't a new style accessory for this look). Take a look at a few of the ways tassels are implemented and some places that have recently stocked up on this new trade:

Brands top to bottom, left to right: Suzywan (aqua blue earrings), Asos (deep blue earrings), Mango (black bib), Asos (multi-colored bib), Topshop (gray bib), Jeffrey Campbell (black heels), Deena & Ozzy (sandals), Topshop (white loafers), Nasty Gal (black necklace), Topshop (deep green necklace), Asos (bracelets), Salt (shorts), Rachel Ray (anklets).

Fashion Week: Chanel going for Streetwear and Clowns? Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Chanel's lineup was quite bold, and very unexpected, with a lot of teared clothes and sneakers. The grocery store backdrop was odd too. Chanel's always been so classy! While refreshing it also was also very unexpected.

And while some ensembles were very hip-hop street style in a chic way, some included a very bright, art-deco pattern that I can't say is my favorite.
I guess solid colored trench coats are bag in?

Fashion Week: Obssessed with Elie Saab's Fall/Winter 2014 Ombré Gowns

Elie Saab had two big themes going for his runways: ombré and sexy black lace.

I really loved the ombré look. I haven't seen it for a while now and it's nice to see again on the runways, especially on velvet.

Trendspotting: Daisy Explosion

The 70's have been fading in and out, constantly bring in a flux of old trends. Now it's the ultimate symbol of the 70s: The daisy. The phrase "flower child" came out of the 70s and it's back, now completely immersed into the mainstream.

And this print is literally on everything.

It's an outline.

 It's on bikinis.

It's on scarves.

It's on shirts.

River Island
It's on everything, actually.

I've already stocked up on a daisy tank top and high waist shorts. I'm not much of a 'florals' kind of girl because in general florals are too girly for my taste, but the daisy print invokes such 70s flair that it leaves the style up to you: boho, retro, girly. You can even make it edgy by adding a black leather jacket. It's literally anything you want it to be.
