Valentine's calls for hearts and pink and ruffles and frills. Too much! Today, post-Valentine's day, I keep a hint of the Valentine's day frill with a pink velvet dress, but add some much needed edge to the outfit by layering on a studded black leather jacket and keeping the entire rest of the outfit black. Instead of my usual straightened hair, I instead went au natural and brushed through my curls to create the poufed look many of the fashion week runways are sporting.

Back to School Haul Part 2: Clothes!
I went shopping for back to school clothes a few days ago and here is what I stocked up on!
Here is the most of it. There are also two sweaters (One from Free People and one from Urban Outfitters that are currently in the washer) but I'll put them on my instagram (Follow! @thenotebookofstyle) soon.
I LOVE print jeans this season! With a basic tee and basically any type of shoe, they are oh so versatile.
Even though this is a tank top, I saw it for sale online and couldn't resist! Maybe in September with jeans and sandals? Or with virtually any flippy skirt.
I saw this shirt at H&M and fell in love! It looks really great with the sleeves rolled up with high waist shorts.
And another tribal print jean! This one looks great not only by itself but cuffed up too.
Click here to see a few other jeans that I bought earlier for back-to-school. Part 3: Shoes coming soon!

Back to School Haul Part 1: The Accessories
I've recently went back to school shopping and picked up a few things for the Fall. Since I kept finding amazing things for even more amazing deals, this is too long a haul for one post! I'm dividing it into three parts: Accessories, Clothes, and Shoes.
H&M
I've been oohing and aahing at earrings of this style for a few months now but I finally had the balls to try these out, and I love them! I have to stop myself from wearing them everyday! To make them less in-your-face, I only wear one of these and wear a simple grey pearl earring that matches on the other, with a sidebraid or with my hair brushed to one side.
I think I bought these at Urban Outfitters?
I love studs, but I've been wanting some with a little more oomph, so I was so excited when I noticed these! I don't love sparkles and bling in my jewelry, but I like the orange rhinestones within the rustic gold color.
Pacsun
What I love so much about these is the mix&match part! Whether I just go with one of the colors, wear them black & white or go with a gradient it's just so fun!
Brandy Melville
I had to restrain myself from buying 10 colors of these Brandy Melville bracelets. At $6-7 each, I wanted to leave some room in my back to school budget for more clothes! In the end I decided to go with a pretty combination of navy+gold spheres and light blue with golden skulls.
Clothes coming next!

Music Concert OOTD
Although it's from yesterday, here's a peak into my personal closet! The wedges are Steve madden, the shorts are BDG, the top is Brandy MelVille, the bracelet is from F21 and I don't remember where the earrings are from.

Style Diaries: Shorts Haul!
This summer, making a bold yet stylish outfit is so easy! All you do is find a bold pair of shorts, pair them with a white tee shirt and you're all set to go!
I fell in love with too many shorts as I was walking around a mall with my friends a few days ago. Sadly, I had to narrow my finds of 12 down to 4 to stay within budget.
From Urban Outfitters: These high-waists with the cute zipper in the back look good with any vintage printed tank top tucked in. It looks best worn with vans.
From Urban Outfitters - just how cute is the print? I'm obsessed! But then again, all BDG denim looks good, am I right?
From Forever21 - Do these look familiar? I love these shorts so much that I got them not just in sky blue but in hot pink! Plus I love the navy Tye-die that's added in. J'adore!
The one pair of shorts I was looking for that I couldn't find was a high-waisted white lace piece...but oh well! No shopping trip can go by perfectly.
Plus I found these sunglasses from Forever21 for only $6! Although I love the shape and have already worn them, they do fall off really easy and just overall are quite uncomfortable, which I guess is reflected off the price...but they're just so adorable!

Fashionable Adventures in Canada
When I had a vacation in Canada, I didn't only capture the sight-see tourist pictures that most travelers do. I captured the details. A pic of the subway, a pretty detail of a museum. Of course, there are those grander Canada Scenery pictures jumbled in there as well.
Enjoy!
Speaking of which, in Toronto I came accross their Shoe Museum. I went photo-crazy in there, so some posts on that are gonna be up soon ;)

Jewerly Haul from Canada
Although I am yet to upload onto my computer the 500 (or more!) photos I took on my three week Canada trip, I have already photographed all my new jewelry from there that I got. I honestly wasn't planning to do much shopping on this trip, but as I walked into a small jewelry store in Old Town Quebec City, I fell in love with the jewelry they sold! $10 a pop, sometimes even cheaper. And the added bonus of the lead-free guarantee kind of won me over. So I decided to do all my back-to-school jewelry shopping back in Canada. Don't laugh when you see how many feather-related products I got ;)
I love these earrings! This was the first time that I was able to find feather earrings being sold that weren't so long that they were up to my shoulders, nor were they those tacky neon ones that I so didn't like. I love the color and the style!
Lately I am easing into a boho style, and these earrings fit the mark. Kinda long, but oh-so-bold and I just fell in love with them!
$12.90 for designer earrings, anyone? Most designer knock-off jewelry is so tacky looking, but these look so authentic. Even if there was no such thing as the Chanel logo, I would have gotten these, they're so cute and go with everything.
And now, some Forever21 accessories that I got before. I feel that my style has changed a lot in this year, and I know it might change yet again, so right now I'm going for cheap buys that I can wear for a few months while they're in trend, and that's what I did with these pieces:
I don't wear a lot of arm-candy, but I do like wearing a bold bracelet once in a while, and these two seemed to fit right into my style.
This photo doesn't do justice to my favorite necklace at all. But anyway, it's a bronze metal with that circle (Although the metal floral piece fell off the wooden circle, the horror! :O Better get a hot glue gun soon...) And I think I have worn it 10 times since I bought it, don't judge!

Summer Accessory Must Haves (A Wishlist)
With summer break beginning at the end of this week I will have nearly three months to explore, relax, and do whatever I please (Freedom!). But how can I do all these things without some chic new additions to my wardrobe? Here's my must-have accesory list for this coming summer:
Out with the ray-bans, in with these! They are definitely going to be the it sunglasses this summer.
I am in love with these shoes and I don't know why I don't have a pair in my closet yet. Gotta get them soon, although it seems as if they never come out of fashion!
Fun and down-to-earth, these bracelets definitely are the ultimate statement pieces for a casual outfit. Throw one on while running to get a cup o' coffee along with jeans and a tee and you're set. They can be sold for as little as $5 at places like Forever21.
What are your must-have accessories this summer?

Style Diaries: Getting Artsy With Polish
Nail polish for me is usually pink. Or blue. Or green. But never in my life have I done print. As soon as I saw the Sally Hanson nail stickers on the drugstore rack, I was in love. The only thing standing between me and getting a bunch of those stickers and switching them up every week was that it costs $10 a pack.Yes, it's tempting, but I wouldn't pay over $500 a year for nail polish. I'll definitely buy them once in a while, though. Although I've seen the commercials for the cheetah print, it was sold out so I got lace which was second best. They have some solid colors, but I feel for that price it's only worth print.
What's your take on nail stickers?

By the way, it hasn't even been two weeks since this blog's beginning and we have over 100 followers on blogspot! Thank you all so much! All my readers are amazing, I love you all!
